4 Tips for Innovative Exhibition/Trade Show Management

Aren’t visitors bored with the regular octonorm booths, similar brandings, buntings and registration setups in every exhibition that they visit across India? This blog is an attempt to give exhibition organizers a few tips as India needs the Best Exhibition management practices and innovative ideas.

We certainly get enough opportunities to innovate and ideate newer things in the market space already cluttered with all similar-looking exhibitions. Why can’t we create shell booths of different styles? Why should the brandings be rectangle or square in shape? Should there be buntings dropping down at every expo?

These questions should help us in the Exhibition and Trade show Management business in India to introspect and act. In smaller and niche exhibitions there is more scope for the Exhibition Managers to re-invent themselves. There are hundreds of niche small exhibitions that require less than 100 shell scheme booths. Here is the scope to go for non-octonorm booths and go for new creations to satisfy one’s creative urge and thus provide the best and innovative exhibition and trade shows for visitors.

Design & Create new-style booths wherever possible:

Do away with regular Octonorm booths in shows that are smaller and that are not logistical nightmares. Do away with Octonorm booths at least at your registration counters. Try to design new look booths & registration counters that are fresh designs and user-friendly. This way make an attempt to provide an innovative exhibition experience for your visitors.

Do away with the regular rectangle brandings & buntings in Exhibitions:

Exhibition brandings need not be those Typical Entry Arches, Rectangular Banners, and Dropdown buntings. There are more shapes & sizes that are available in this world. There are Squares, Cubes, Globes, and triangles too! Why not an innovative exhibition and trade show branding in your show?

Add newer elements in your show to engage & entertain the visitors:

You can add as many zones and elements as you can. Central Display Zone, New Product Zone, Gaming zones, Lounges, Music zones, Entertainments, Quizzing, Video bytes, Selfie Zones, and the sky is the limit. Provide people and even your exhibitors’ Golf carts, Bicycles, Electric Bikes to travel from one point to other.

Make your Exhibitors happy too!

A warm Send-off for Exhibitors by the Organizing team with a message –See you in the next edition may be a good idea. Offer return gifts or chocolates for exhibitors, or celebrate their birthdays if any during the show to give a memorable experience for Exhibitors. Exhibitors are happy when visitors throng their booths. Create visitor engagement zones in every hall and ensure that the visitors do not miss any of the stalls.

We at HostIndia Events conceptualized, designed and created shell scheme booths recently for a niche B2B Denims exhibition in India. This exhibition was earlier held in Vietnam and Dhaka and this was their first India edition. There were about 100 booths with many large textile brands participating.

Shell scheme booths were designed and created using MS channels, Mesh-like Fabric and MDF panel walls. There were new style fascia, inbuilt hangars for the denim display, display shelves, large tables designed and produced as well. Lighting requirements for such events are 10 times higher when compared with regular exhibitions. A Designer Trend-wall that displayed all new trends in denim was the highlight of the event. Few new-look branding were made in triangle shapes and a few new signages were created.

India needs the Best Exhibition Management practices and all that is required is an innovative approach of the organisers to disrupt the mundane and try newer things wherever possible.
